Salsa is a social dance with inspired moves, and fun, infectious music. With origins in Cuba, Salsa is now practiced around the world. In this course, students will learn the steps and movements as well as the music and history of Cuban Salsa. Due to remote learning, students will primarily be dancing Salsa Suelta, Salsa dance without a partner, while also learning steps and stylings of both leads and follows. Be prepared to dance!

This course will meet entirely on line for winter quarter. All levels of dance and movement  experience are welcome to enroll. Students should have a private place to perform dance and movement exercises uninhibited without being disturbed, at least 6 x 8 feet of space, good internet connection and a computer. Students should expect to spend one hour, two times per week, in synchronous learning using Zoom.

Students who are unable to participate regularly during scheduled class times should contact the instructor as soon as possible to develop a plan for alternate learning.

First class meeting January 4, 2021, 5 to 6 PM. Regular class sessions 5 to 6 PM on Monday and Thursday.
