Photography: Summerwork

Summer 2017 quarter (First Session)

Taught by

visual arts, art history, photography

This class is an intensive five–week workshop in creative black and white photography.  Students will learn how to use and care for 35mm cameras, how to develop and make high quality prints from their film, discuss the work of other photographers intelligently, and to 'see' like an artist. Everyone is expected to attend and actively participate in all classes and critiques, write five "image responses,” shoot at least 100 feet of 35mm film (20 rolls of 36–exposures), and print an edition of their work for copies of a book which everyone will receive at the end of the session.
