Summer Registration
Summer is an optional quarter for MPA students. We offer elective courses and, for continuing students, opportunities to work with available faculty on individual study and internship contracts.
Monday, June 26 is the first day of Summer Quarter 2017.
Summer 2017 MPA elective courses are part of the 2016-17 academic year. For detailed summer quarter information, including tuition and timelines, go to the Evergreen summer page.
Continuing Student Registration
Web registration for Summer 2017 for continuing admitted MPA students begins on Monday, May 22. Continuing MPA students may complete up to 12 credits per quarter without the MPA Director’s approval.
Learning Contracts
If you have completed at least one quarter of first year core you may register for an individual learning contract. If you have completed at least one quarter of first year core you may register for an internship learning contract.

Your contract needs to be submitted and approved by your sponsor to be reviewed by the MPA director by June 23. See the Individual Study site for more process information.
New and Special Student Registration
New students admitted to the MPA program for Fall 2016 and students not admitted to the college (“special students”) may register for Summer courses as Special Students beginning Monday, May 30.
Register by email, mail, by fax (360) 867-6680, or in person using the Registration Form.pdf or by Special Student Registration Form PDF. Course registration priority is generally given to continuing students. For info about summer statistics courses that meet the MPA prerequisite requirement, go to our statistics prerequisite guide.
- Non-admitted students who have a bachelor’s degree are eligible to take MPA elective courses for graduate credit.
- If you have been admitted to the MPA program, up to 12 Evergreen graduate elective credits taken as a graduate special student will count towards your MPA degree.
