AmeriCorps Education Award

Amount: Up to one quarter of resident tuition
Due Date: Thursday, April 2, 2020

Up to one-quarter of resident tuition distributed to one or more applicants whose commitment to community service through AmeriCorps is demonstrated in their desire to attend graduate school.

No FAFSA is required for this award: financial need is not considered.

In the MPA Financial Aid Awards Application, submit a maximum 100 word essay that addresses this prompt:

  • Describe how you have demonstrated your commitment to community service, and explain how AmeriCorps impacted your desire to attend graduate school.

In addition to the required mini-essay, the following additional materials need to be emailed to Dhara Katz, MPA Office Assistant, at by Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 11:59 pm:

  • a signed letter of recommendation on letterhead in PDF format emailed to Dhara directly by the recommender, preferably from an AmeriCorps supervisor;
  • a copy of your AmeriCorps Service Letter found at verifying that you’ve successfully completed one year of service and have received the full AmeriCorps Education Award.
