How to Accept Your Financial Aid

Financial aid is released at the beginning of each quarter. You will still receive a bill for tuition, and your financial aid will be included. See Financial Services for ways to get your “refund,” the amount in excess of tuition and fees.

You can get to your financial aid award information through My Evergreen. Click on "Financial Aid" and look at the top right corner to double check you are looking at the correct aid year.   • Home: This tab provides an overview of your Financial Aid, you can check for Unsatisfied Requirements.
  • Award offer: This tab shows you the following information about your award. You can accept or decline your awards on this tab. The terms and conditions of accepting awards will pop up, please read them carefully before accepting.
  • Financial aid history: This tab shows you past Evergreen financial aid awards.
  • Resources: This tab shows information about each award you have been offered.
    • How your overall need is calculated
    • Your total cost of attendance
    • A summary of the awards offered to you

Loans

If you are accepting a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan for the first time at Evergreen, you will need to complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and an Electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) at: https://studentaid.gov/ If you are a dependent student and you have been offered a Parent Plus Loan, your parent can log in or create an account at https://studentaid.gov/ “Apply for a Parent PLUS Loan” to complete the loan application. This loan cannot be accepted via my.evergreen.edu. If you are a graduate student and you have been offered the Graduate Plus Loan, you will log into https://studentaid.gov/ “Apply For Aid”, “Apply for a Grad PLUS Loan” to complete the loan application as a Graduate Student. This loan cannot be accepted via my.evergreen.edu.

Additional Steps for Specific Loans

If you are accepting a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan for the first time, you will need to complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and an Electronic Master Promissory Note at studentloans.gov.

Please note that the Federal government has made some changes around interest subsidy and have put a time limitation for first time borrowers. Find out more about Direct Loans.

Parent Plus or Graduate Plus Loan

If you are a dependent student and you have been offered a Parent Plus loan, your parent can log in to studentloans.gov to accept the loan.

If you are a graduate student and you have been offered the Graduate Plus Loan, log into studentloans.gov to accept your loan.

These loans cannot be accepted via My Evergreen.
