This is a remote home-studio intensive coursefor all students regardless of skill-level in Adobe Photoshop and/or digital art and design making. This projects-based course will support students in either gaining or building on foundational knowledge in Adobe Photoshop through instructional tutorials, group critique sessions, and one-on-one instructor mentoring and support. Students in this course will propose and complete a larger scale multi-asset individual digital art or design project in order to gain valuable experience in conceiving of, developing, and realizing a art- or design-based project that is suitable for a professional portfolio.
All Zoom sessions will be recorded so that students that need flexibility in their scheduling can engage with the work of the class asynchronously.Tech, Connectivity, and Home-Studio Space needs: In order to participate in this remote-learning course, students will need access to reliable internet, a webcam, a newer laptop, or desktop computer that has a multi-core processor and at least 8GB of RAM. Our work will be conducted remotely, using Canvas and Zoom.
Students will be given access to a remote Adobe Creative Cloud license from Evergreen during the course.
All students will receive and submit course assignments on Canvas following weekly submission deadlines. Students will participate in 4 hours of remote synchronous Zoom project development instruction, project work and project critique on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm and should expect to spend an additional 6-10 hours outside of class time per week on their projects.
