This course will trace the history and development of Native Americans in Film from the beginning of moving images to the 21st century as we explore representation over time and across cinematic genre. We will explore academic analysis, investigate behind the scenes, and watch movies. We will write illuminations and conduct mini-seminars as we move through issues related to history, representation, production, storytelling, and impact of the film arts as created by and reflected of Indigenous Peoples.
