Physics I is an accelerated course covering the first quarter and half the second quarter of college algebra-based physics, including kinematics, vectors, 2-D motion, force, circular motion, work, energy, momentum, rotational kinematics and kinetic energy, torque, angular momentum, kinetic theory, gas laws, and thermodynamics. Through labs and collaborative group work, students will cultivate an intuitive understanding of physics concepts and develop the ability to communicate those concepts effectively to others.
Taking the Physics I & II summer course sequence provides the equivalent of a year-long standard introductory algebra-based physics sequence. Students who have taken or are currently taking calculus have the option to earn calculus-based physics credits.
