The changing nature of work has increased the demand for human capacity in organizations, taxing employees' psychological capital (i.e., hope, motivation, attention, and resilience.) This course discusses the key psychological and behavioral theories and concepts that help leaders and managers increase staff well-being, enhance and apply employee strengths, improve organizational performance, and achieve strategic goals and objectives. This course uses seminars, group activities, reflection assignments, and final projects to help students bridge theory and practice and gain the skills, knowledge, and competencies to become more effective managers and leaders.
This class is an online course, with class meetings conducted via Zoom on Saturdays and learning activities completed through Canvas. This course is one of four secondary elective offerings which make up the Transformative Leadership Certificate. 8 credits of electives need to be completed in any order, in addition to the Transformative Leadership Certificate core coursework.
