This advanced level course is offered to upper-division students with previous experience in art and a minimum of one printmaking technique. Options include mono printing, intaglio, relief, screen printing, or letterpress. The course objective is to compile the students' previous work, in art and print, into a presentable and coherent portfolio. Students will apply previous knowledge to advance their printmaking work and either combine technical processes or focus deeply on one process.

Class sessions will be conducted in-person, once a week, while some coursework will be completed remotely using Canvas. A computer and access to the internet are required for the online portion of our work. Working in a collaborative manner, students will have opportunities for class critique sessions for peer review and also to post to a class discussion platform. Students will submit images of their work to Canvas throughout the quarter, and during week 5 and week 10 students will share their work that is submitted online and reviewed in-person.

Assignments are designed to support the beginner through the advanced student. Through in-person instructional demonstrations and supplemental video tutorials, students will be expected to take notes and work on assignments during the week. Students should be prepared to invest 6-8 hours a week to complete all projects outside of class sessions.
