Taught By:
There are times when socioeconomic realities, injustices, politics, and personalities create such division in our public organizations that it becomes hard, if not impossible, to do the business of government. In Public Administration in Divided Times we look at divisions and disproportionate inequalities that manifest in how public organizations operate. Some situations may be no-win, others might be resolved with an act as simple as rearranging an office layout. Drawing from authors such as Camilla Stivers, Chris Argyris, Mary Parker Follet, and others, the course proposes practical strategies for effective and equitable public service during divided times.
