Social welfare policy is intended to protect citizens from the instability of a capitalist system and the insecurities of life. It can come in many different forms from Obamacare to foster care policy. The implementation of the programs created by social welfare policy can also vary widely between the federal, state and local levels. This course will serve as a tasting menu of a variety of different social welfare policies and their administration. Policies looked at will include healthcare, child welfare, public assistance, and more.
