This class is an elective in the Evergreen’s Woodworking Foundations Certificate Program and can serve as a culmination of the program. It is reserved for students who have completed three previous Certificate offerings: Woodworking: Enclosures and Containers, Woodworking: Frames and Surfaces, and one Woodworking: Special Topics offering (qualified non-certificate students may be admitted with prior faculty approval).
This course focuses on student originated work. Students will complete a summative final research and studio project in consultation with the Woodworking faculty, comprised of research and writing, studio work, work statements, and public presentations. They will be expected to work collaboratively with their peers to do their studio work and to make their final presentations to the community.
This elective is part of the Woodworking Foundations: Craft, Culture, and Sustainability Certificateat Evergreen. This course must be taken after completion of all required coursework.
