I have been in the GIS sphere for nearly seven years with a focus on local government. I believe that the greatest way to make a positive impact in my community is with a local focus. At Evergreen, I am teaching two GIS courses in 2025. I have written and presented about the importance of tree canopy cover and methods for undergoing a tree canopy cover analysis using the machine learning aspects of GIS, namely image classification. I am passionate about GIS and the many ways it can be used to foster community and increase understanding, bringing people together through all walks of life.
