Upward Bound Clover Park Upward Bound Shelton

The Upward Bound Tacoma program supports students primarily from Mount Tahoma and Lincoln high schools from the Tacoma Public Schools district. In the school year, program staff are integrated into the schools offering weekly support and academic enrichment. During the summer, students participate in a 6-week summer program along with recently graduated students. The program includes classes, electives, recreation, tutoring, field trips, and community programming. 

Upward Bound Tacoma’s services to students from Mount Tahoma and Lincoln High Schools supports the mission of The Evergreen State College to provide outreach and services to local communities and are 100% federally-funded at no cost to participants.

 

Upward Bound students celebrate with a dance
Students in the Upward Bound program celebrate the end of the program in a public celebration. The students read original narratives and children's stories, and did dance performances as well as scenes from the musical Hamilton.
