Medical Care at Student Wellness Services
We provide basic healthcare services focused on the acute care of illness and injury, sexual health and LGBTQ+ care, mental health care, community referrals, care coordination, and teaching health literacy skills.
- We offer pre-departure health and safety travel consultation for study abroad students.
- We provide sports physicals for new and returning student athletes.
- Some of our specific services include:
- On-site laboratory services for point-of-care testing (COVID, influenza A/B, strep, mononucleosis, HIV, blood glucose, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy testing)
- Prescriptions and limited on-site pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, antidepressants, emergency contraception, and nebulizer treatments)
- Minor Procedures (incision & drainage, wart destruction/removal, wound care and suture placement/removal).
- Vaccines
Students are encouraged to maintain a primary care provider whose services are covered by their health insurance company. SWS does not bill health insurance.
