Effective leadership in public and non-profit organizations requires the effective use of available resources. This course covers the principles of financial management so that the student is able to understand the financial statements and accounting practices that are used in the public and non-profit sectors. Students will become knowledgeable of capital budgeting, debt management, and term financing. They will gain an understanding of the importance of accounting, reporting, and auditing. The course culminates in an applied financial condition analysis of a public or non-profit organization.
