Hirsh Diamat teaching

Hirsh Diamant has been teaching at Evergreen for 26 years, much of that time has been spent developing curriculum about the Silk Road and vital tourism. Hirsh was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine and has lived all over the world, including Israel, China, Moscow, and New York City. 

"My goals are to empower students to strive for authenticity, academic excellence, health, and connection to place and the world".

Professor Diamant's academic interests are focused in traditional cultures, arts, health, Chinese philosophy, and medicine. About his courses, Hirsh shared, "My classes are interdisciplinary. Students are engaged in art making, community building, movement, meditation, and international connections". 

Hirsh is also an organizer of Evergreen's annual Lunar New Year celebrations, working with the community to bring together cultural entertainment and educational experiences around the Lunar New Year - including food, arts, performances, speakers, workshops, and more.
