Media Labs and Use 

We offer many labs for student academic use, some advanced labs are reserved for specific programs. Each lab space has it's own requirements for use, staffing needs and necessary proficiencies.

Media production computer lab
Multimedia Lab

Evans Hall 1404

Any student can use the lab for academic purposes. Get audio and video production support with access to:

  • Audio and video production software on thirteen Mac computers
  • Adobe Creative Cloud, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and other media software
  • MIDI controllers, drawing tablets, iPads and other accessories to use in the lab

Audio Mixing Benches

Evans Hall 1520, 1522

The Audio Mixing Benches are introductory level audio facilities set up for mixing, editing and simple recording.

  • Sound mixing, editing, and recording
  • 61 Key MIDI keyboard
  • Ableton Live, Pro Tools and a variety of audio plugins
Video Edit Suites

Evans Hall 1524, 1526, 1528

The Video Edit Suites are three editing stations set up like the stations in the Multimedia Lab. Each suite has space for 2-3 people to work together.

  • Large speakers and displays
  • Audio interface with XLR inputs
  • Small MIDI keyboard
5.1 Surround Mix Lab

The 5.1 Mix Lab is a hybrid of a media classroom and a mixing control room, great for mixing and editing, critique, or presentations.

  • Audio software (also in the Multimedia Lab and Audio Mixing Benches)
  • Mix in stereo and 5.1 surround sound
  • Audio and video editing
Podcast Studio

Evans Hall 1504

The Podcast Studio is designed to record podcasts, interviews, and other voice recordings of up to four microphones.

Sound Effects Studio

The Sound Effects Studio has a selection of floor surfaces, foley pits and a variety of objects to create sound effects.

  • Equipped with a Mac computer with multiple monitors
  • Space for group work: 1 student recording and 1-2 creating sound effects
Lynda Lab Lighting Studio

The Lynda Lab is a medium sized video production studio.

  • Equipped with a variety of lighting equipment and accessories
  • Students need to bring their own camera and camera tripod

Center for Creative and Applied Media

The Center for Creative and Applied Media (CCAM) houses Media Engineering, Evergreen's high-definition Television Studio, Audio Lab, Sound Effects Studio, 5.1 Surround Mixing Room and more. Advanced media access and education are provided in a highly-current and technologically fluid environment.

Audio Studios

Evergreen has a variety of audio productions facilities. The Audio Mixing Benches are available for any students to use for academic work. The multi-track recording labs are used by specific courses.

The Audio Lab is our introductory level multitrack recording facility. The studio can be used to record a small song or for voice-overs and sound for video.

These intermediate level recording studios double as classrooms and event spaces.

The Recital Hall is acoustically designed for music with retractable curtains to control sound reflection and absorption. The Audio Control Room contains an API 1608 console and Mac computer with 16 channel Universal Audio interface.

Performance and Production Studio + Audio Control Room

The Performance and Production Studio was originally designed as an orchestra hall with retractable acoustic curtains. The Audio Control Room contains an API 1608 console and Mac computer with 16 channel Universal Audio interface.

Multitrack Studio

Proficient use for this studio is provided through the audio classes. These spaces are set up for advanced audio production.
