We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students of diverse abilities and identities in their exploration of the laboratory and field sciences.
Hello and welcome to the Science Support Center!
We are currently accepting applications for next academic year - Fall, Winter, Spring of 2019/2020.
We are a team of student employees who work under the supervision of the Science Support Center Manager.
Some of the work you would be doing includes equipment inventory and organization, cleaning glassware, helping your crewmates prepare lab requests for programs and student projects, assisting customers at the front desk, and using PwC's "Understanding blind spots" video series and discussion guide to examine what biases we bring to the job and how to combat them.
We are looking for people who will be on time and attend all of their shifts, who can work on a team, who can do customer service in a fast paced environment, and who are committed to furthering equity and inclusion work in the sciences. Enthusiasm to learn is more important than a science background on our team.
We strongly encourage qualified persons of all races, ethnicities, faiths, sexual orientations, gender identities, physical and mental abilities, women, Veterans, and persons over forty to apply.
Workstudy awards are a plus.
Shifts are from 8:15am to 12:30pm and 12:30pm to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday, Weeks One through Ten of the academic quarters.
The entry level position currently starts at $13.00 and will be adjusted upward with the minimum wage increase.
Applications can be dropped off physically at the SSC (slide under the door if we're closed) or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to meeting you!
