About Photoland
Photoland is open to all students, faculty, and staff regardless of their enrollment in a course or program. We offer services and support to programs and courses, and the community at large. Access to facilities requires proficiency trainings which are offered regularly throughout the year. Community members can access Photoland by paying daily or quarterly membership fees after required proficiency training.
Photoland Facilities
- Black and white darkroom equipped with 13 stations with the ability to enlarge 35mm, medium format, and 4x5 negatives
- Auxiliary darkroom with a large format enlarger for printing up to 8x10 negatives
- Self-service black and white film processing area
- UV box for alternative process exposures
- Digital Imaging Studio (DIS) with 13 Mac computer stations
- Each station is equipped with a high-quality reflective and transparent scanner, Wacom tablet, and full Adobe Creative Cloud
- Self-service inkjet printing on an Epson SureColor P5000 printer
- Three lighting studios equipped with strobe and continuous lighting along with a wide variety of modifiers (These studios are only open to Evergreen students, faculty, and staff who are engaged in particular programs)
- Print finishing area with hot press, cutting surfaces, and window matting equipment
- Two gallery spaces, Gallery Photoland and Student Photo Gallery, that feature rotating art exhibitions and host art-related events
