FAFSA/WASFA Application

2025-26 Priority Deadline: February 1, 2025 (Submit by January 14)

Evergreen’s School Code is 008155

Evergreen’s financial need-based scholarship opportunities require applicants to complete their FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

OR, for Washington resident students who are not eligible to file a FAFSA, their WASFA: Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)

Both applications for 2025-26 opened October 2024. Complete and submit your FAFSA or WASFA no later than January 14, 2025, so our Financial Aid staff will receive the results by February 1, 2025, the Priority FAFSA/WASFA Application deadline. If you apply by the deadline, our staff will receive your information automatically.

Applications for your 2024-25 FAFSA or WASFA can still be submitted and may be required for some 2025 Spring and Summer scholarships.

Please do not submit a copy of the financial aid application along with your scholarship application.

2025-26 Undergraduate Scholarship Application

Open December 1, 2024 to March 1, 2025 at 11:59 pm

How to Apply

Applying for all 2025-26 Evergreen undergraduate scholarships and tuition awards is a single process. Each student submits one application in late winter/spring of 2025 that is used to determine their eligibility for the entire list of 2025-26 scholarships. There are many scholarships available, and each student will be matched with the opportunities that fit their need, interests, and circumstances, using the information they provide in their application.

If you would like to review the full list of opportunities, they can be found in the Scholarship Portal (student account login required). The letter of recommendation requirement has been removed for the 2025-26 application. For more information on crafting a compelling essay and using the application portal, attend one of our Scholarship Workshops.

Students who apply for admissions fall quarter will automatically be considered for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are awarded against the cost of tuition and will be part of the student's financial aid award package. Learn more about our Merit Award Policies.

Your Scholarship Application Will Include:

An application essay no longer than 1000 words addressing the following questions, as they apply to you:

  • (Optional) What is your experience with community involvement and giving back? Think creatively – this could be volunteer service, clubs, paid work, personal projects, or even future planned work.
  • (Optional) What accomplishments are you most proud of in your personal, professional, and/or academic life? What other information makes up who you are?
  • Essays will be evaluated using the criteria described in the 2025-26 Evergreen Scholarship Application Essay Evaluation (PDF) document.

Optional: Unofficial Transcripts (screenshots accepted)

  • New students with fewer than 40 transferable credits should submit high school transcripts, as well as college transcripts if applicable.

Travel Abroad Scholarships

Open October 14, 2024 to November 17, 2024 at 11:59 pm

Evergreen has four types of 2024-25 Travel Abroad Scholarships (PDF) available to support undergraduate students during the 2024-25 academic year. The application typically opens in Fall Quarter Week 3 and closes in Fall Quarter Week 8. See the Important Deadlines drop down for specific dates each year.

These scholarship funds can be used to support undergraduate students traveling abroad in winter, spring, and/or summer of the 2024-25 academic year. Funds must be applied to the quarter(s) of travel. Travel can be part of an Evergreen course or program, internship, consortium agreement, exchange program, or individual learning contract (ILC). Funds cannot be used to support Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURFs).

How to Apply

Applying for all undergraduate travel abroad scholarships is a single process. Each student submits one application that is used to determine their eligibility for the entire list of travel abroad scholarships. Each student is matched with the opportunities that fit their need, interests, and circumstances, using the information they provide in their application.

Your Travel Abroad Scholarship Application Will Include:

A Completed 2024-25 Travel Abroad Scholarship Application

Optional: An application essay no longer than two pages double-spaced, describing:

  • What you are studying at Evergreen and why.
  • How you plan to use your degree after graduation.
  • How studying or interning abroad will help you achieve your future academic or professional goals.
  • Why you selected your specific program and host country.

Note: If you wish to be considered for all travel abroad scholarship opportunities, we recommend you submit the application essay. Three scholarships require the essay, our fourth type of scholarship opportunity does not. You may submit the essay in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

Scholarship Workshops

Our workshops are drop-in opportunities for students to ask questions about the scholarship process and hear about best practices and tools for applying for scholarships – through Evergreen or external opportunities.

Family Education Rights and Privacy Statement

Pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, students submitting applications for scholarships are consenting to disclosure of their application materials to committee members on and off campus. This could include information related to scholarship eligibility, admissions status, registration status, class standing and financial need.

Undergraduate Scholarships Policies

Students must meet the following conditions to maintain eligibility to receive scholarships from the Undergraduate Scholarship Office:

When students are sent their award letter, they are notified that their scholarship will be split evenly between the quarters they will receive the scholarship. If the scholarship is a renewable scholarship, the award letter will state that the total of the renewable scholarship will be split evenly between the quarters they are receiving the scholarship, and that their scholarship will automatically renew each year until they complete 180 credits.

Policy Exceptions

Exceptions to these policies can be made on a case-by-case basis in the following instances*:

  • A student request to drop below 6 credits in a quarter (they will be taking 1-5 credits instead) and they want to continue to receive their scholarship.
  • A student request to move their scholarship into less than three quarters because:
    • They are graduating
    • They will be requesting an official Leave of Absence (See the "Leave of Absence Check List")
    • They will be deferring their enrollment start date from Fall to a later quarter
    • They will otherwise not be attending Evergreen for all three quarters of the main academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) for any other reason

Complete the Policy Exception Request Form to request a policy exception for one of the above outlined reasons:

Policy Exception Request Form (MS Forms)

*The Undergraduate Scholarship Office does what is within its power to ensure that students receive the full amount of scholarship funding originally offered. Instead of prorating your scholarship to a lesser amount, we will typically reallocate the entirety of your scholarship offer to fit the quarter(s) that you will attend. While scholarships can be moved between Fall/Winter/Spring and/or Summer quarters, please note that scholarship awards must still remain within the same academic/aid year for which the funding was offered.
